Mulch bed with boxwoods, grasses and boulders along a curved drive at a brick house

Mulch and beds in Toledo, OH Black mulch. Clean edge.

Fresh mulch, a curved cut edge and trimmed shrubs, done in one visit by people who call back.

Beds that look cared for

The edge is what people notice.

Fresh mulch makes a yard look done.

A clean edge is what makes it look sharp.

We cut a curved edge around the bed, then lay black mulch to an even depth.

We work around boxwood, hostas, a Japanese maple, boulders and whatever else you have.

Shrubs get trimmed by hand with hedge shears, so overgrown ones get shaped back.

One customer had us do all the trimming and mulch in spring.

Then they hired us to mow for the season.

Call or text and tell us how many beds you have.

A photo of the front helps.

Mulch around Toledo

More mulch is not better mulch.

Ohio State University Extension says mulch should go on no more than 2 to 3 inches deep.

Keep it off the trunk.

A pile against the bark holds moisture and invites trouble.

Extension calls those piles mulch volcanoes and warns against them.

They say the root damage from a volcano can last the life of the tree.

So we spread it flat and pull it back from every trunk and stem.

Spring is the busy time, when beds get trimmed, cleaned out and topped up.

We can re-cut an old one that has blurred.
